Inside Lumbini Garden

This is a scene inside the Lumbini Garden of Dong Zen Temple, Jenjarom. Little Monk is seen holding a broom. Perhaps he is helping out with the daily chores here. Behind him there is an antique Japanese stone lantern and a trellis arbor decorated with the japanese honeysuckle vine.

A close up of the japanese honesuckle plant. The scientific name of this plant is Lonicera Japonica. It is also called Suikazura 水鬘 or スイカズラ in Japanese. The flowers are double-tongued, petals opening in white colour and fading to yellow. It has a wonderful sweet fragrance and is a source of food for deer, rabbits, humming birds and other wildlife.

  1. Such a peaceful place. Probably not something seen in tourist brochures. Thank you for this, I've made a note of it for my Malaysia trip next year.
    Cheers.
