Nerium Oleander Plant

ABC Wednesday Round 5

N ........

is for Nerium Oleander.

The Nerium Oleander is native to northern Africa, eastern Mediterranean and South East Asia. Its common name is oleander. You can grow this evergreen into a nice looking shrub, hedge, small tree or in containers. The leaves are leathery, long and narrow while the flowers are poisonous are are not to be ingested. The plant contains numerous toxic compounds which are present in all parts of the plants and concentrated on the sap.

  3. The plant is lovely and used extensively in highway landscaping since it pretty well takes care of itself. Very low maintenance.

  5. Slyvia, Eileeninmd, Photowannabe, thank you for visiting my blog and for the nice comments. I'm glad you all like the flower and water feature. We plant a lot of oleanders in public pathways, backyards and home gardens here too.

Quilt Works, Tumblewords, the water feature is a decorative structure at the entrance to the resort. I think it looks nice with the stone arrangement too.
