Queuing A Part of Life?

Today is ABC Wednesday!
Q is for .....
Queue!

Genting Highlands is a popular tourist destination in Malaysia. Locals like to visit this place too, especially during festivals and public holidays. With theme parks, beautiful gardens, shoping outlets, eateries, entertainment and casinos, there is bound to be something for every member in the family. It is crowded the whole year round.

Whenever I visit this holiday resort, queing will be part of my daily routine, from the time I arrive to the time I leave for home. I queue to:
  • check in
  • to have my daily meals, i.e. breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, supper
  • to play games, e.g. queue for an hour to take a ride that lasts only a few minutes!
  • to find parking
  • to take rides, e.g. cable car, shuttle service,
  • to pay money
  • to take turns when taking photographs of a popular landmark
  • to check out to go home
  • then, queue in a traffic jam all the way home!

I consider myself lucky when people are willing to queue and I don't have to rush, push and shove. But when there are too many people and a very long queue, I spend lots and lots of time queueing and it is very tiring and time wasting. If I get a tummy upset, then the last thing I wanna do is get stuck in the middle of the theme park, queuing for the washroom.

I come here to enjoy myself but it looks like I must allocate a lot of time to QUEUE!

Do you have such an experience in your favourite tourisy destination?

  1. Great post for the Q Day! I think queuing is probably just a part of the world we live in today. It's not fun, but better than having to fight for a place, I guess! I do my best to avoid crowded places, but that's not always an option. Hope your week is going well!

  4. If I have a magazine or two, I'd be OK in the queue.

  10. Yes, it's great when people queue - very fair and very orderly. I hate it when people jump queue...and I will voice out my discontentment. Don't care what they think of me - this grumpy old man!
