Economy, Fast and Efficient Haircut By The Indian Barber

Today is City Daily Photo Theme Day for December 2011, the theme is "Action".

Who do you go to when you need a fast, cheap and efficient haircut? Well, the trusted Indian barber of course!  These people are experts and master craftsmen because they will always shake their heads (which signifies a YES) when you ask if they can do this style or that style, crew cut no. 1,2 or 3, Bollywood, Hollywood, David Beckam, Johnny Depp, K-Pop Rain, Justin Bieber, curly, spiky, classic, trendy or even Master Q - no problem at all!

The cost is about RM 8.00 or USD 2.42 for a 15 min hair cut. Some enterprising shops are situated just next to a car wash centre, so you could get a haircut and head massage while waiting for your car to be cleaned.

Just that - it looks like this is a 'guys only' thingy. I have never seen a lady come for a hair cut at such shops.

Where do you go for your haircut?

  1. What a wonderful photo of a skilled crafstman at work !

  2. His waiting queue seems to be outside his shop! I did not realise that people go into a barbers shop and ask for a celebrity hair-cut. He certainly looks like he knows what he is doing.

  3. nice :)...i love the mirror image part...so many people there.

  4. I used to send my son to the Indian barber when he was young.

  5. Great Virgos think alike haha. Was thinking about to blog about haircut when I get the green light from my hair dresser. Is this pix feature in your column? Can 'borrow' without return for my next entry? hehe. Used to go aneh barber until I found one nice lovely hairdresser who is also my client and the price one ringgit extra at RM12.00. Bananaz quite vain very fussy one haha.

  6. Yes, they can do celebrity haircut. These expert hands handle many (types and number of) heads every single day, hence they are very skillful.

Some people, e.g. those who gamble believe that it will lower your chances of winning a bet/lottery if a guy let a lady cut his hair.

Bananaz, yes! you have my permission.

  7. Aiyo cham lor shall I sacked my hair dresser? tQ for the pixz downloading in a bit.

  8. Aha, now you know. Also, gamblers avoid bumping into a completely bald person (e.g. monk) on a betting day because it would mean 'nothing left'!

  9. That's a great look at everyday life!
    Excellent realisation of the theme!

  10. Got one consolation Bananaz don't gamble not even during CNY and buying ekor only occasionally if I have a dream. About bald person not to worry Bananaz also bald, no lah no shadow eh haha.

  11. Hi Autumn Belle, my latest post on Hair is up tQ for the barber's pixz.

  12. OK, thanks for letting me know!

  13. Dropping by to wish you and your loved ones a Happy New Year. Keep blogging!

  14. Not many of those around here anymore, lots of the unisex hair saloon popping everywhere including the housing estates here.
