An LRT station at Wangsa Maju, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.
According to The Star yesterday, Nanyang Siang Pau, a Chinese daily reported that our Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTMB) or Malayan Railways Limited has plans for a train exclusively for women only. A trial run will be conducted this month. KTMB plans to allocate 1 of the 3 coaches in each commuter train for women passengers only.
This is certainly happy news for us ladies.

That is very interesting! Good looking train! I love trains anyway! Great shot for the day! Hope you have a lovely week!

Interesting idea, but the train will sure to be packed like sardine!
ReplyDeleteYou could take pictures at LRT station? No security guard coming after you?
ReplyDeletethen the spouse will need to take other transport..
ReplyDeleteHahah! That would great news for women :) I wonder why that plan was proposed in the first place. Gosh, in my city in the US, I can imagine protests going up as soon as this is announced. We have the leftist group, the anti-feminist group, and all these equality groups.
ReplyDeleteHi Autumn Belle, i visited this blog before but somehow i forgot all about it and concentrated in mynicegarden. I noticed you have another set of followers here. I appreciate your photos, the composition, framing, etc. The monochromes are also very lovely. I envy your diligence in maintaining 3 sites, write on papers, work and still be a mother and wife!...and to add to that, can still respond at once to my emails, hehe. Unbelievable. I cannot do that, Autumn Belle. I wish i could.
ReplyDeleteThat is the same as on some trains in Japan...beautiful train and platform!
ReplyDeleteAnd will they dedicate just one car for us handsome, charming, funny, blogger guys?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of idea is that? Are we becoming like the Middle East?! Are women protesting sharing coaches with the opposite sex?
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you very much for the comments. I have heard that some ladies experience sexual harrasment e.g. gropping / molest/ being touched intentionally during a crowded train ride, i.e. where others take advantage of the innocent girls, esp the young ones who are too shy to take action. So, I think it is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteIt is an interesting photo of our very own train system. The Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is much faster and better in terms of service. Less worried of predators or pickpockets.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that applies for Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) only. The train is usually slow and crowded especially during work hours. People are more agrresive to get in the train as it comes less frequently.
That is interesting and I think the women would be happy.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo first of all. And the women only train - have never heard of such a thing but if that is what the people want, more power to them if they can get it. The Japanese already do that? Life gets more interesting every day...
ReplyDeleteit would be great news for all women. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, there too? I ride on the women-only traincar every morning! I can say...it smells nicer than regular train-cars. Especially in the summer :D
