Today is ABC Wednesday,
Y is for .....YOU and YOUTHs
Your Right, Your Say!
The above picture was taken at Pandarmaran Sunday morning market where there are a lot of people doing their morning shopping and marketing. A campaign is going on to get more people who have not regisered before to go and register as a voter.
The voting age is the minimum age in accordance to law that a person must attain to be eligible to vote in a public election. In Malaysia, this age is 21 years old.
My teachers and elders used to tell me that it is important to appreciate our freedom and to exercise our right to vote as good citizens. Having the right to vote would mean that there will be no racial, religious or sexual discrimination. My parents and grandparents has never missed a single election. Having lived through the colonial masters, two World Wars and the Emergency before our country finally attained independence, my grandparents truly appreciate and value their freedom to vote and choose their future leaders. Malaysia is our beloved country and as true citizens of this beautiful country, we must show that we care for her future.
Have you registered as a voter?
Do you go to vote?

yes, i will definitely vote!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do vote. Voting is our voice in a democratic society. The important thing is to make sure you understand what you are voting for because politicians put carefully worded policies out there that are confusing and manipulative.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting and important entry of yours. Living in a foreign to me country, sadly am not able/allowed to vote. Please have a nice Wednesday.

ReplyDeleteVote for sure, but be informed! Good reminder.
ReplyDeleteYou're automatically registered as a voter once you become 18. For every election you get a card which allows you to vote.
ReplyDeleteI do tend to use my vote, although I did miss a few in the past due to work.
