This Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd (HSBC) building was established in 1920. Located along Jalan Sultan Yusuff and just opposite the Ipoh Padang (Ipoh field). It is the oldest bank in Ipoh and has been gazetted as a heritage building.
In Ipoh, many of the streets were originally given English names during colonial times. The names has since been changed to local names. This is no exception. Jalan Sultan Yusuff to us now was formerly Belfield Street to our parents and grandparents.

ReplyDeleteI can see your followers in this blog is very different from our circles in the garden blog. This building is so feminine but beautiful architectural design. We have a building this color near our office but when administration change, the paint color also changes. If i will be the one to decide, i will keep the same color to instill the identity of the building in the hearts and minds of men.
